about

Thinking about Issey Miyake and his incredible designs. His aesthetic really inspired my style as a teen in the 80's. While I couldn't afford his clothing, I would attempt to mimic the dark indigos, all black, futuristic layering via second hand. Thank you, New Fashion Japan magazine for sharing the minimalist fashions and introducing me to Issey Miyake!

Aaaanyways, this piece is actually an exercise in control voltage output, random wave patterns controlling attenuators. I've been diving deeper into the Make Noise René, really having fun.
It is also my birthday, today, as I release this track, and this is a gift to you!

Custom synth rack comprised of Mutable Instrument's Plaits, Rings, reverb via the Erica Synths Pico DSP, delay from Make Noise Mimeophon, with a split output from Rings running through the Microcosm pedal for added glimmer. Clocks and sequences from ALM's PNW and the Make Noise René Cartesian sequencer.

Hope you enjoy this mini trip through Baku canyon!

*Make Noise, Mutable Instruments, ALM & Erica Synths Pico DSP are Eurorack synth modules.

Rest in power, Issey.
